Adopt-a-Park

Adopt A Park - Healing NatureEvery year, we encourage mentors and students to volunteer their time to Adopt-a-Park, a great cause organized by Five Rivers MetroParks in recognition of Earth Day.  This year is special because the activities will be focused on planting trees following the 2019 Memorial Day tornados.  According to their communication, “MetroParks has thousands of native trees to plant—and needs your help to get them in the ground.”

Adopt-a-Park will take place on Saturday, April 18 from 9 AM-Noon.  Volunteers of all ages and accessibility levels are encouraged to take part.  Supplies are provided and each volunteer receives a T-shirt.  Mentors and students can register online from March 1-April 10 at: https://www.metroparks.org/make-a-difference/volunteer/opportunities/adopt-a-park/

Please consider spending some time outside of school with your student.  If you intend to transport your student to the site, remember to have a parent complete the Youth Transportation Release: https://mcocp.org/content/uploads/2019/10/Youth-Transportation-Release.pdf  We also require a free Motor Vehicle Background Check if you have not completed one already.  Please contact Patrick, (937) 225-9922 or pgill@mcocp.org, for more information.

We hope to see you out there!
