Happy New Year from College Promise

On behalf of Montgomery County Ohio College Promise, Happy New Year!

As we reflect back upon this past year, we would like to acknowledge the generosity from our community, as our Helping Students Thrive Campaign generated another $103,343 for Montgomery County Ohio College Promise. These gifts will go a long way to making our program sustainable in an effort to deeply impact students’ lives now and for years to come.

As an update, we are in the process of selecting our 16th cohort of College Promise Scholars. In November, we received 252 applications from 8th graders from throughout the county, and we plan to interview 94 of them in January, ultimately allowing 55 deserving College Promise Scholars to take part in the program.

Our students (and mentors) are wrapping up a much-deserved break and look forward to a successful second half of the school year. The 51 College Promise seniors will spend the remainder of their time in high school completing their studies and making some final decisions about college. With now 17 partner colleges and universities, we are excited to see where they will choose. All of our students (including those attending out of our network) will receive at least some financial support from the College Promise program.

As we look toward another successful year, we do so knowing a program like ours couldn’t exist without your commitment. Thank you to the students, families, donors, mentors, school staff, college student personnel, and community leaders who make this all possible.

We wish you a happy and healthy 2026!
