Meeting Policy and Expectations

Two people in masksWe hope that you have had a great start to mentoring this school year.  The current meeting policy and expectations are as follows:

  • Montgomery County Ohio College Promise (MCOCP) will allow in-person mentor-mentee meetings to resume under certain conditions.  MCOCP will not be asking mentors to provide proof of vaccination for any reason. Mentors, whether fully vaccinated or not, are required to wear masks and socially distance. It is highly recommended that your Mentee also be masked, but it is not required.
  • Mentors must also follow school policies for visitors, which may include a policy of no visitor.  In this situation, mentors should arrange for a virtual meeting with their mentee.  If visiting a school, mentors should perform a self-health symptom check before entering the site.  Mentors should not enter the building if they exhibit coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, achiness, or other COVID-19 symptoms.
  • A transition period will be in place for the first semester or the 2021-22 academic year, where mentors can choose to meet remotely with their mentee.  MCOCP will re-evaluate the optional remote meeting policy in hopes that all mentor-mentee meetings will take place in person by second semester.
  • Mentors are expected to meet with their student weekly.  Please let us know if meetings are not taking place for whatever reason.
