Every year, we hold a mentor roundtable in the summer, where we invite current mentors to celebrate the year, connect with others, and receive updates from the program. This annual program is important, but today College Promise and its volunteers have different needs and require an additional layer of support.
In September, as we embarked upon the mentoring process remotely, we held our first in a series of monthly roundtables. The goal was to have a constructive discussion about what is working and what still needs addressed. While we are still providing updates, at is core, our roundtables are a forum where mentors can connect and stay engaged in the good work that is taking place in many different places and in many different ways.
Over the course of the year, we hope to adjust the days and times to allow for maximum participation. All we ask is that our mentors carve out an hour of time once a month if they are able to take part. Our next Mentor Roundtable will be Tuesday October 27 at 3:30 PM via Zoom.
