Senior Year Steps

Senior Year StepsOur eighth cohort, who will graduate from high school in the spring, has begun the process of completing what is necessary to begin college in the fall of 2022.  We have had the pleasure of meeting with each senior to update information and discuss college plans.  Each senior has been given a “To-Do” list, which will be their guide of all that need to be completed over the next few months.

Step 1 is to complete the FAFSA.  Students must complete the FAFSA to be eligible for federal and state grants, along with need based scholarship money.  Students must remember to list the colleges to which they are applying on their FAFSA.

Step 2 is to apply to all colleges they are interested in attending.  Numerous factors go in to finding a good college fit.  Please encourage your student to visit all schools they might be interested in attending.  It is hard to get a good feel for a school without experiencing the campus firsthand.

We have asked that seniors complete the FAFSA and their college applications by Thanksgiving. We are available to help in any way we can as these fine young adults get ready for the next step in their education.
