Student Spotlight: Monet Allen
Monet Allen, a 2019 graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, is part of the Montgomery County Ohio College Promise Program. Monet will graduate from Wittenberg University in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Digital Media.
During her time at Wittenberg, Monet was able to take part in the Communication and Business Leadership Experience (CABLE). CABLE allows students to engage in high-impact professional development through learning opportunities. For Monet, this consisted of working with Google representatives to develop Hilton’s new marketing initiative.
Monet shared that College Promise has served as a motivator and called for her to “strive for greatness inside and outside of the classroom.” She plans to pursue a career in corporate communications or public relations in order to utilize the skills she learned in college.
Monet lives by the adage that “when you think positive thoughts, positive things happen.” As she moves forward with that mindset following college graduation, she clearly has a bright future ahead of her.
