Student Spotlight: Theresa Jenkins

Theresa JenkinsTheresa Jenkins (formerly Russell), a 2014 graduate of Centerville High School, was the first four-year college graduate of Montgomery County Ohio College Promise.  In 2018, Russell completed her Bachelor of Science in Diagnostics Medical Sonography from the University of Findlay.  

Some of the highlights of her college experience included studying abroad in Spain, meeting new people, and finding her purpose in life.  She is grateful for the program because it reduced barriers that ultimately helped her earn a quality education.  In addition, throughout high school and in college her mentor helped to hold her accountable, something that aided in her success.  Reflecting upon her entire collegiate experience, she said, “I accomplished my goals and watched my dreams unfold.” 

After graduation, Theresa moved from Ohio to Georgia to further her career.  She is currently working at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta as an Ultrasound Technologist.  In 2020, Theresa married her husband, Justice, and they are working on building a family business with Theresa’s mother.  Speaking about her life since College Promise, she said, “I am always finding new ways to further myself and the future of my family.”Theresa has achieved success at every step along the way.  We are glad to have had has this impact on her life and wish her all the best.
